“Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions”
-Mark Twain
A personal tool
Use Cotivate as a habit tracker to create goals and action items associated with those goals.
A live feed of ambitions
Use the drip to keep track of everyone you follow.
Have an idea? Create it.
If you have a goal in mind that others might like, create it and allow others to subscribe to it so that they may complete the action items associated with it.
Grow your following
Follow your friends and have them follow you. All of them will help hold you accountable.
Create Circles
A circle is like a mini-bubble within the cotivate community. Create a private one for just you and your friends, or create one where anyone can join.
Research has demonstrated on multiple occasions that there is power in utilizing the support of others to help one achieve their goals. In one study that included 704 participants, researchers at North Carolina State University found those in an online weight loss program who had accountability partners lost more weight than those who did not. In a separate study by the American Society of Training and Development found that accountability partners increased the likelihood of goal achievement up to 65%.

What is Cotivate?
Cotivate is an application that allows you to create goals. Once these goals are created you may either use Cotivate as a tool to track your progress on your own or you may allow your friends to hold you accountable.
How do I use Cotivate?
Once you have created an account you will go to your Goal Library. Here you will create goals and find all of the goals you have already created. After you have pressed the “Create New Goal” button you will be prompted to create your new goal. Here, you will be able to name the goal, add time constraints to your goal, and action items to your goal.
What kinds of goals should I make?
In regards to Cotivate, a “goal” is a desired result or outcome dependent upon effort(s) to bring about said result or outcome. When thinking about how to create a goal one should consider goals as being one of 3 categories.
The first category of goals are called Concrete Goals. These are goals whose results are quantifiable. For example, a boxer may need to cut weight to reach a specific weight before a boxing match.
The second category of goals are called Semi-Concrete Goals. These are goals whose end results are abstract in nature but can be quantified by an arbitrary chosen unit of measurement. For instance, a goal of yours might be to become a better chess player. This result is pretty subject and relative. However, there are many different chess websites on the internet who use their own different ranking systems and you might choose one of these to measure how well you can play. You might have a specific number in mind for these types of goals or you might not.
The third category of goals are called Abstract Goals. These are goals whose end result is abstract in nature and cannot be measured or quantified. For instance, you might want to become more conscientious. Not only is this relative but it is also impossible to measure. You might indicate that making your bed every morning is one thing you can do to become more conscientious. You might potentially view your success of this goal as a function of how well you adhere to making your bed every morning.
What are Drip Tasks?
Drip tasks are the action items, yet to be completed, that you have identified as necessary to completing the goal they are associated with. You can think of them as a checklist. They will only appear under the drip task tab on the day they are due for completion.
What is the Drip?
The Drip is where completed drip tasks will be displayed. Items marked as completed on the Drip will only be visible for 24 hours.
What if I have no one to follow?
If you have no one to follow, we suggest you find a circle to join that will have people ready to help you achieve your goals.
What are Circles?
As a member of our community you have the option to create a “Circle”. One can think of Circles as mini-communities within the broader Cotivate community. If you have created a circle you have the options to make it public or private. If the circle is private, only the creator may invite new members into that circle. If the circle is public, anyone may join that circle. The circle will display completed drip tasks for all goals that have been designated to belong to that circle.
What happens when a goal expires?
If the time restriction you originally placed on your goal expires, you will no longer be able to complete action items for this goal and you will have to create a new goal if you’d like to keep completing the action items assigned to this goal.
What happens when I subscribe to goals?
When you subscribe to the goal of another user the drip tasks will populate as yours and will be available for completion until either the goal is unsubscribed from, the goal of the original user expires, or if the original user deletes the goal.
Why am I unable to subscribe to other users’ goals?
If you are unable to subscribe to another users’ goal it is because either the user has elected to not let other users subscribe to that goal, the goal has expired, or the goal has been deleted.
